CPD WORKSHOP

Exploring Privilege and Power in Counselling and Psychotherapy

About the Workshop

ABSTRACT: The political within psychotherapy has become a growing field. With this though, is a rising realisation that the power dynamics which we have often avoided within counselling and psychotherapy, need space to be explored, considered and weighed appropriately. This workshop will therefore involve an exploration of just how we all have a relationship to power and how we might develop the skills and the knowledge in order to work safely with our own power, how we might work with the power that our colleagues may also have alongside us, and how we might also then bring this into the counselling and psychotherapeutic space and explore the power dynamics inherent within any of our consulting relationships.

Who is it for?

The workshop is open to all counsellors, students and supervisors.
